André Hansen replaces Robert Biwer as Government Commissioner for Maritime Affairs.
Biographical notice
André Hansen was appointed Government Commissioner for Maritime Affairs on May 1st 2022.
The agency he is heading is the focal point of all shipping matters in Luxembourg.
Having joined the Ministry of the Economy in 2000, Mr. Hansen hold several positions at that Ministry:
- in 2010 he was appointed Deputy Director for International Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, in charge of organizing national pavilions at trade fairs for various key economic sectors.
- from 2013 to 2022, Mr. Hansen was serving as Deputy Director General for Trade and Investment Promotion. In this capacity, he was responsible for the organization of numerous economic missions all over the world and for managing Luxembourg’s international network of trade and investment offices.
Mr. Hansen also was a member of the Trade and Investment Steering Committee as well as Chairman of the government’s one-stop-shop for exporters at the Luxembourg Export Credit Agency.
Having been a board member of the organizational body of Luxembourg’s presence at World Expo 2020 in Dubai, Mr. Hansen was appointed, in October 2021, Commissioner General of the Luxembourg participation at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
Mr. Hansen was born in 1980 and is married and father of 2 children.
